Ericsson, Alcatel Get 4G Network Contract From AT&T

Telecom equipment vendors L.M. Ericsson Telephone Co. (ERIC) and Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) Wednesday said they have been selected as suppliers for a next-generation wireless network for AT&T Inc.(T), the largest wireless operator in the U.S.

The deal marks another key win for the two companies as equipment makers fight to win the first major orders for Long Term Evolution, or LTE, a fourth-generation wireless network technology that offers higher traffic speeds than older standards. Read more...
