That's right folks an anonymous tipster has sent us shots of the highly anticipated BlackBerry Thunder. The Thunder also known as BlackBerry 9500 will feature a huge 360x480 touch display and will apparently run on OS 4.7. This device will be a great multimedia player and could bring CDMA carriers true iPhone competition. The Thunder will run a carrier music store which similar to the iPhone's iTunes store and will allow users to purchase songs from their device. O2 IPhone 3G Pre-orders Already Sold out in U.K.

Potential customers of the iPhone 3G in the U.K. briefly had the option for unprecedented service this morning, as British provider O2 offered people the ability to pre-order an iPhone online, in order to have it delivered--yes, hand-delivered to your very house--on the 11th.

Plenty of people took advantage of the opportunity--so many in fact, that O2 is now saying that the "due to the huge demand for the iPhone 3G, it's currently out of stock online." iPhone 3G upgrades available and O2 website crashes due to high demand

Sooooo, the iPhone 3G finally goes on sale on Friday. More than 200,000 O2 iPhone hopefuls have already pre-registered for it and no doubt a few more thousand tried this morning, but were unable to do so due to "extremely high levels of demand" that caused the network's website to crash within the first hour of taking pre-orders. Wireless chip shipments on a roll, says analyst

Market research group Forward Concepts has delved further into the latest semiconductor shipments statistics from WSTS and suggests that despite anecdotal evidence of a slowdown in cellphone chip shipments, the figures argue differently.

May shipments of DSP & RISC chips for cellphones were up 8 percent over April, and up by a staggering 47 percent over May of last year. Read more...

RIM wins delay in Visto patent suit

Research In Motion has won a delay in a patent-infringement case filed by Visto regarding wireless email technology.

The trial was scheduled to begin next Monday in Marshall, Texas, but the judge said a postponement is warranted while the US Patent and Trademark Office re-examines the four disputed patents. Read more...

O2 to Introduce iPhone 3G "Pay As You Go" Later This Year

They didn't launch into too many specifics, but wireless carrier O2 has stated that the company will offer a "pay as you go" option later in 2008.

Bangladesh to Offer WiMAX Licenses

Bangladesh's telecoms regulator, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has published its draft guidelines for issuing Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) licenses. The national licenses are being proposed - two in the 2.3Ghz band and one in the 2.5Ghz band.

The incumbent operators are banned from bidding - and the bidders are limited to having 60% foreign shareholding. Read more...

iPhone 3G queue not idiots but environmental campaigners

The news that people have already started queuing for Apple's 3G iPhone is likely to prompt thoughts about how much more stupid even Apple fanboys can get. But the people already queuing in New York have ulterior motives. According to a Fortune report, they're TheWhoFarm: "a newly minted publicity-seeking environmental collective with an agrico-political mission: to persuade the 44th President of the US ... to transform the White House's 17-acre lawn into an organic farm."

Alvarion Rolls Out Mobile WiMAX Internet Service in the U.S.

Alvarion, a provider of WiMAX and wireless broadband solutions, announced the commercial rollout of Mobile WiMAX Internet service by DBC (DigitalBridge Communications) offered over Alvarion's WiMAX Forum Certified BreezeMAX 2.5 GHz solution.

The company said networks are already up and running with broadband Internet to businesses and homes across Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Read more...
